About HVACandRoof
HVACandRoof is a contractor-matching marketplace for mini-split, HVAC and roofing work. You describe your project once; it is shown to at most 3 screened contractors who cover your area, and the first to take it becomes yours. You deal with one contractor and their own written estimate — not five companies calling you for a week.
The distinction that matters most is who is accountable for the work. Usually that is an independent contractor rather than us — and where it is us, because HVAC and Roof Corp performs some jobs itself, we say so at the point it applies to you rather than leaving you to work it out.
The plain facts
Who operates it
HVACandRoof is operated by HVAC and Roof Corp, a registered business at 3561 S Archer Ave #1061, Chicago, IL 60609. That is a real registered address, not a storefront you should drive to — the contractors are the ones who come to your home.
Who actually does the work
Most work is performed by independent contractors, and for those jobs every quote, contract and warranty belongs to that business rather than to us. The exception, which we would rather state than bury: HVAC and Roof Corp holds EPA Section 608 Universal certification and liability insurance, and performs some work itself while the network is being built. When the contractor matched to you is us, the site tells you so.
What screening means here
Screened means a specific list of checks — licensing where required, insurance, business registration, genuine service area, specialty, complaint history, periodic reverification. It is not a workmanship guarantee, and we never call a contractor 'certified' or 'the best'.
How we are paid
Contractors pay us, homeowners never do. The fee is a capped percentage charged on completed, paid jobs — never on deposits and never on sales tax. The rates are published rather than negotiated in private.
Where we actually operate
Screened contractor coverage is being built market by market, starting in Illinois and Texas. Where we cannot support an area yet, we say so instead of matching someone badly — and we do not publish city pages for places we do not serve.
Who builds the software
The platform is developed and maintained by By Faith Apps, a separate software company. HVAC and Roof Corp operates the marketplace; By Faith Apps does not arrange anyone's roof replacement.
What you will never find on this site
No invented review counts, no fabricated project photos, no “500+ contractors near you” when the real number is smaller, and no city page dressed up as a local office. Where we do not yet have real information — a verified rebate program, a completed local project, a median local price — the page says so rather than filling the space. That is a deliberate constraint on how this site is built, and it is why some pages are shorter than a competitor's.
