About HVACandRoof
HVACandRoof is a contractor-matching marketplace for mini-split, HVAC and roofing work. You describe your project once; we introduce it to a small number of screened, independent local contractors — at most 3 — and they compete for the job with their own written estimates.
The distinction that matters most: we are not the contractor. Getting that wrong is how homeowners end up unable to tell who is accountable for the work, so it is repeated everywhere on this site rather than buried in a footer.
The plain facts
Who operates it
HVACandRoof is operated by HVAC and Roof Corp, a registered business at 3561 S Archer Ave #1061, Chicago, IL 60609. That is a real registered address, not a storefront you should drive to — the contractors are the ones who come to your home.
What we do not do
We do not install, repair or replace anything. We hold no trade licenses and pull no permits. Every quote you receive, every contract you sign and every warranty you rely on belongs to the independent contractor you choose.
What screening means here
Screened means a specific list of checks — licensing where required, insurance, business registration, genuine service area, specialty, complaint history, periodic reverification. It is not a workmanship guarantee, and we never call a contractor 'certified' or 'the best'.
How we are paid
Contractors pay us, homeowners never do. The fee is a capped percentage charged on completed, paid jobs — never on deposits and never on sales tax. The rates are published rather than negotiated in private.
Where we actually operate
Screened contractor coverage is being built market by market, starting in Illinois and Texas. Where we cannot support an area yet, we say so instead of matching someone badly — and we do not publish city pages for places we do not serve.
Who builds the software
The platform is developed and maintained by By Faith Apps, a separate software company. HVAC and Roof Corp operates the marketplace; By Faith Apps does not arrange anyone's roof replacement.
What you will never find on this site
No invented review counts, no fabricated project photos, no “500+ contractors near you” when the real number is smaller, and no city page dressed up as a local office. Where we do not yet have real information — a verified rebate program, a completed local project, a median local price — the page says so rather than filling the space. That is a deliberate constraint on how this site is built, and it is why some pages are shorter than a competitor's.
