Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of https://www.hvacandroof.site and the matching service operated by HVAC and Roof Corp, doing business as HVACandRoof. By submitting a request, you agree to them.
They are written to be read. Where something works in a way you might not expect — that we sometimes perform the work ourselves, that one contractor takes your job rather than several bidding for it — it is stated here rather than left for you to discover.
1. What this service is
HVACandRoof is a matching service. You describe a project; we show it to screened contractors who cover your area; one of them takes it and contacts you directly. We are not a party to the agreement you then make with that contractor.
Using the service is free for homeowners. There is no charge to submit a request, and no obligation to hire anyone.
2. How your request is handled
Your request is shown to at most 3 screened contractors whose recorded service area covers your ZIP code. The first to accept it takes the job, and the others are withdrawn. You receive one contractor, not competing bids.
If no screened contractor covers your area, your request is marked unmatched and we tell you so rather than passing it on to someone unsuitable.
Nothing here obliges you to accept the estimate you receive, and nothing prevents you obtaining quotes elsewhere to weigh against it.
3. We are sometimes the contractor
HVAC and Roof Corp operates this marketplace and also holds trade certification and liability insurance, and performs some work directly. The contractor matched to you may therefore be the same company that runs the site.
When that happens we tell you on your job page. An affiliated contractor is not an independent one, and you should know which you have. The success fee that independent contractors pay does not apply to work we perform ourselves.
4. What screening means, and does not
Screening is the specific set of checks described on our screening page: licensing where it is required, insurance, business registration, genuine service area, specialty, complaint history and periodic reverification.
It is not a guarantee of workmanship, an endorsement, or a certification by us. It reduces risk; it does not remove it, and it does not replace your own judgment. Review the written estimate and contract, and never pay in full before work is done.
5. The planning estimator is not a quote
Our estimator produces a planning outline — likely project type, zone count, capacity range — from the information you enter. It is not an offer, not a quote, and no contractor is bound by it.
Only a written estimate from the contractor who has seen your property is a price.
6. Your agreement is with the contractor
The estimate, the contract, the workmanship, the permits and any warranty belong to the contractor you hire. That is true whether the contractor is an independent business or HVAC and Roof Corp acting as contractor — in the latter case your agreement is with that company in that capacity, not with the matching service.
If a contractor we matched falls short, tell us. Complaints and response performance affect whether a contractor keeps receiving matches. We cannot, however, alter their contract or perform their warranty for them.
7. What we ask of you
Submit accurate information, and only for property you own or are authorised to arrange work on. Do not submit requests on someone else's behalf without their knowledge, and do not use the service to collect quotes you have no intention of considering.
Do not attempt to interfere with the site, its security, or other people's data.
8. Contact and consent
Submitting a request means agreeing that we may share it, and your contact details, with the matched contractors so they can respond. That agreement is recorded, including the exact wording you were shown.
Consent to be called or texted is separate and optional, and declining it does not stop you being matched. You can withdraw either at any time by writing to privacy@hvacandroof.site. How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
9. Payments through the platform
Some jobs are invoiced and paid through this platform. Where they are, the amount is the contractor's, and any deposit is capped by our own policy at the lesser of the applicable state limit, a quarter of the pre-tax contract price, or a fixed ceiling.
Payments are processed by a third-party provider; we do not store your card details.
10. Reviews you write
You may review a contractor you were matched with. Reviews should describe your own experience honestly. We may decline to publish, or remove, a review that is defamatory, discloses someone's personal information, or does not describe a real job.
By submitting one you allow us to publish it in connection with that contractor. The contractor may respond publicly.
11. Availability
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, and coverage is being built market by market — an area we serve today may change.
12. Limits on our responsibility
Our responsibility is the matching service itself: showing your request to screened contractors and, where used, processing payment. We are not responsible for the work a contractor performs, their conduct on your property, their timeliness, or their warranty — those belong to that business, including where that business is HVAC and Roof Corp acting as contractor, in which case they are its responsibilities as your contractor rather than as the operator of this site.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects rights you have under consumer protection law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and a request you already submitted is governed by the version in force when you submitted it.
