Mini-Split Installation in Chicago, IL
Coverage confirmed per request. Chicago is part of our pilot rollout. Send a request and we'll tell you directly whether screened mini-split installation contractors are available for your address.
Installing a mini-split in Chicago is usually a masonry job before it is an HVAC job. Line sets have to cross a solid brick or block wall rather than a stud bay, so coring, sleeving and sealing the penetration is real work with a real cost — and it is one of the commonest differences between two quotes on the same bungalow.
Where the outdoor unit can sit is decided by the lot, not by preference. On a two-flat that usually means a rear porch, a flat roof or the gangway, and each carries a consequence: gangway units sit close to a neighbour's window and can be awkward to service, roof and porch placements need condensate routed so it does not freeze into the path someone walks on in January. A contractor who walks the exterior before quoting has priced your building; one who does not has priced a category.
Electrical is the third variable. Older two- and three-flats frequently still run services sized for a much smaller load, so a dedicated circuit for the condenser can turn into a subpanel or a service upgrade. Ask for that assessment during the site visit rather than as a change order, and ask who is pulling the permit — Chicago requires one, and it is the contractor's to pull.
About mini-split installation generally
Ductless mini-splits are our launch specialty. Whether it's one bedroom that never cools down or whole-home, multi-zone comfort, a well-designed mini-split project starts with your rooms — square footage, layout, insulation and how you use each space — not with a catalog page.
HVACandRoof is a matching marketplace. We put your request in front of a small number of screened mini-split installers in your area, after you've seen an honest preliminary plan from our free estimator. Those installers are independent businesses that visit the space, confirm sizing and give you their own written estimates — with one exception we always name: HVAC and Roof Corp performs some installations itself, and when the contractor matched to you is us, the site says so.

- What Actually Drives Mini-Split Installation CostNo page can price your job — but the things that move the number are knowable, and knowing them is how you read two quotes side by side.
